We’re all amped up over here, preparing for this Saturday’s fantastic event: Pop Up Chapel with The Knot! What started as an idea among a group of friends celebrating marriage equality in NY has evolved into a full blown wedding extravaganza. We’ll be marrying 24 same-sex couples in two custom designed chapels at the Columbus Circle entrance to Central Park, starting at 11AM on Saturday.
We’re lucky to be working alongside an awesome group of people on the main planning committee with the crew from Pop Up Chapel and The Knot. The folks over at Architizer ran the design competition for the chapels. The lucky 24 couples will be getting flowers from David Stark Design, cupcakes from CityCakes, dedicated photographers to capture their day and a bunch of other goodies as well.
Come by Saturday to catch the action in person and cheer our couples on, and make sure to follow Just About Married and Pop Up Chapel on Twitter, for behind the scenes tidbits during the event.

Here’s an example of a Smock suite we just worked on for an upcoming JAM wedding – the red edge painting is so great with the black & white striped envelope liner!

Check out Taryn & Andrew’s highlight video from 15 Minutes of Frame! They were both so lovely, and it’s touching to see Andrew get choked up when he sees Taryn for the first time, and as he waits for her under the chuppa. Their friends and family really knew how to party in celebration of this wonderful couple. Photos & full recap to follow!

After the sneak peek that was provided by the YouTube video, these photos are the icing on the cake! Jennifer and Tom knew that Grand Central Terminal was going to be perfect for them, and they were so right. Despite the wet weather outside, Grand Central Terminal stood out with it’s old New York charm and vibrant mood. The day started with the couple’s first meeting at the clock in the center of the terminal, followed by photos throughout the venue, making use of all GCT has to offer – teller windows, arches, staircases, and even a group of New York’s Finest.

Once the time came, Jennifer and her father descended down the staircase of the West balcony with friends, family and fiance looking on from the East balcony. The rush of the terminal came to a halt as commuters stopped to watch the bride’s procession (and even snap a few photos). Goosebumps rose when all of Grand Central burst into a round of applause as Jennifer made her way to her waiting groom. The ceremony commenced on the East balcony staircase with many onlookers watching from the terminal floor.

The wedding then moved to the top of the staircase where Metrazur had been transformed into the perfect reception space with passed hors d’oeuvres, tasting stations, and a live band. The guests danced the night away and were treated to red velvet wedding cake and chocolate covered strawberries.

A great time was had by all at this classic New York City wedding; congratulations Jennifer & Tom!
