Vicky & Tony at Brooklyn Bridge Park & reBar

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

Vicky met Tony while vacationing in Antigua a few years ago, and what ensued was years of traveling back and forth to be together at every opportunity possible. Finally, they decided it was time to get married! Tony moved to Brooklyn this summer, and Vicky immediately went to work on their wedding. She truly wanted something simple and easy and I think the photos below will show you not only how well executed the mission was, but also how a truly simple affair can be absolutely fantastic!

Their ceremony was held in Brooklyn Bridge Park, with a group of family and friends who traveled from all over the globe. After their very brief ceremony, the couple took off around DUMBO with their photographer while guests had drinks and appetizers in air conditioned comfort of reBar (it was 100 degrees that day!)

The tables were accented with candles along with fresh flowers and herbs that Vicky purchased and potted. Dinner was served buffet style, and I only wish I had a photo that looked as good as the food tasted! Vicky and Tony supplied an iPod with playlists that covered everything from Prince to traditional music for Tony’s family to enjoy. Black Cake, a Caribbean traditional dessert, was served to all the guests and, since her wedding day was also her nephew’s birthday, Vicky supplied a special cupcake for him and she invited all the guests to sing ‘Happy Birthday’.

Guests were on the dance floor until the end of the night, and Vicky & Tony were thrilled with their day.

I wish them the very best, and welcome to Brooklyn, Tony!

Amanda & Rich at The Bowery Hotel

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Where do I begin? Everything about Amanda and Rich’s wedding was amazing. This couple captured everyone’s hearts, and every vendor they worked with fell head over heels for them (so much so that even the front desk attendants at The Bowery Hotel snuck in to see them exchange their vows)! Saipua designed a beautiful table scape with seckel pears and an organic garden feel accented with candelabras and hand written seating cards. Their cake was amazing, alternating layers of carrot cake and cream cheese and chocolate on chocolate.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, but I truly cannot express what a pleasure it was to be a part of their big day and to meet such amazing people – congrats and love to you Amanda and Rich!
